Easter 2011

In the words of a great sermon:
It is Friday, but Sunday is Acomin'.
The day is dark, but Light is Acomin'
Sickness and death surrounds, but Victory is Acomin'
It is Friday, but Sunday is Acomin'
Glory to God, Glory to God
It is Friday, but SUNDAY is Acoming.

Do you understand the meaning behind the great words of this sermon, this is not my sermon but I heard years ago on a tape. It still resounds in my heart like it was yesterday.
Friday of the first Easter was a dark and dreadful day, worse than the worse day of any of our lives. I know you may say how can that be? God allowed His one and only Son, Jesus to be beaten, torture and killed for our sins. Jesus gave up His life for you, and when He died the sky turned dark at noon. That would be a sad story if it ended there, but it didn't.
Sunday came and the stone was rolled away and the tomb was empty. Jesus who was dead, was alive again. No the disciples did not come and steal the body, there were professional soldiers on guard, and the women didn't roll the stone away, that stone would have taken several large men to move.
God love raised His son Jesus from the dead and opened the grave by rolling the stone back.

Yes it may be Friday in your life today, but if you will let Jesus take control, Sunday is Acomin'.
Will you allow Jesus to bring Sunday into your life today? It is my prayer that Jesus reaches your heart today.
